"A Brother's Love" Tribute to Nina Simone
"A Brother's Love" A Tribute to Nina Simone, featuring her brother & Nyack resident Sam "Magic Man" Waymon performing Nina's music & other selections

Eunice Kathleen Waymon better known as Nina Simone was a classically trained pianist. However some of her best known songs are in the soul, jazz, pop, or blues genres. In the late '50s, Simone began recording for the small Bethlehem label and in 1959 she released her first top 20 hit, "I Loves You Porgy".
In the early '60s, she recorded no less than nine albums for the Candix label. These unveiled her as a performer of nearly unsurpassed eclecticism, encompassing everything from Ellingtonian jazz and Israeli folk songs to spirituals and movie themes.
Nina's brother, and Nyack resident, pianist Sam Waymon, who served as his sister's musical director for close to three decades - will perform music from Nina's songbook on Sunday May 20th at The Nyack Village Theatre!
