The Shroud of Gaia EP and Helping Haiti

The Shroud of Gaia is a progressive symphonic experience from Southern Ontario, Canada. The band is hard at work on their first EP. It is a pre-release to the full album titled, "Mirrors of Mira".

Simcoe, Canada (prHWY.com) March 23, 2012 - Hello everyone! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit our page! The Shroud of Gaia is a group of guys who love music! We have built our music around a story, which we know you'll enjoy. After two years of planning, writing and practicing we are finally set to record the EP which contains tracks to build the anticipation for our full length album; titled, The Mirrors of Mira!


We didn't want to stop there; however, we wanted our music to be about more than just us. So we decided to donate a portion of our EP sales so Support an orphanage in Haiti!


Our bassist recently came back from a trip to Haiti where he was able to lend a hand in building the foundation for a dormitory at an Orphanage on Mt. Toro (The Southwest end of the Island). This area of the country is one of the poorest and that's exactly where Kenny wanted to be! Just so you know, this school is up on a mountain and everyday the kids have about a 2 hour climb to get there! The Dorm would give the kids a place to stay during the week so that they can focus on school work and don't have to climb a mountain everyday before class.


We fell in love with Haiti because regardless of these people losing everything through hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes they are still determined to rebuild their lives, homes and communities The members of The Shroud of Gaia share a passion for seeing kids reach their full potential and that is what the kids in Haiti want to do, but they know they can't do it without an education and that is why we are passionate about this project!


So what do we plan to do?


In addition to sharing our passion for music we want to pledge a portion of the proceeds from our EP to the effort of building up the orphanage in Haiti; but we know we can't do this on our own and we need your help make this dream a reality!


Everyone who pledges to help make this project a reality will bring about the completion of shared dreams. The dreams of kids in Haiti who just want to go to school, the dreams of a man and his wife who saw a need for kids to learn and the dreams of a couple of guys who love to play music together. This project is bigger than us; it's bigger than any of us so we hope that you'll want to help us out!
