Washington, D.C. (prHWY.com) February 22, 2013 - (http://www.zeepharmacy.com) : Recent analysis has revealed that an appropriate amount of antioxidants in the diet has not reduced the factors accelerating the causes of stroke or dementia. Antioxidants are involved in a variety of food stuffs, lycopene, beta- carotene & vitamin C & E.

Antioxidants are certain molecules which provide oxidation to other molecules. They help to nurture our cells & tissues & help to nourish the body from the radicals like air pollutants, stress, infectious diseases, and excess harmful radiations from the sunlight.

Other studies have shown that the availability of the antioxidants in the diet help to protect the human body against stroke and dementia. This analysis was considered on people aging 55 & above who had no indications of dementia in the initial part of the study. These participants have been classified under three categories which included low, medium & high rates of antioxidants in their diet. It revealed that more than half of the people had shown signals of suffering from dementia while the other half had developed the indications of stroke. It was also examined that people consuming greater amounts of antioxidants in their meal were not more or less developing diseases in the brain as compared to those having lower rates of antioxidants.

Sources explain that majority of the fluctuations in the level of the antioxidants were due to the consumption of tea & coffee. These fluids are a rich source of non-traditional antioxidants which include the flavonoids.

A study by the Italian researchers had shown that consumption of greater amounts of antioxidants reduces the causes of stroke, which showcased lower ratings on the intake of beverages like coffee & tea & higher ones due to a variety of fruits & vegetables & beverages that had alcohol content.
