(prHWY.com) December 13, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- For centuries, the location to the long lost treasure of the town of Dawnsville has been kept a secret. Anyone that knew the location kept it to themselves, and any public documents that mentioned its location were lost.
"It is said that the town of Dawnsville was one the center for the world's richest people", said Dawnsville historian, Matt Blank. "People would bring all their gems, diamonds and gold to the area. The story gets a little complicated from there."
The story of Dawnsville takes a turn when a local criminal arranges a heist that steals the town's gems, diamonds and gold. The criminal takes the items and seals them in a local cave.
"The locals that lost their items never saw them again", said Blank. "People spent years looking for the cave where these items were hidden, but it was never discovered."
The cave wasn't discovered until now. An intern working with a local law firm happened to stumble upon the location of the cave while researching for an upcoming trial.
"I was using my firm's e-discovery software to look up how many accidents happened at a particular intersection", explained Daniel Ike. "I was looking at the results when something looked a little off about one of the locations. I pulled up the information and noticed it seemed different. I conducted a little research on the location and discovered it led to an abandoned mine. And it all went from there."
E-discovery software is
[designed to search multiple documents, websites and other information for particular words and phrases. When Daniel Ike ran a particular combination of phrases through the software program it resulted in uncovering one of Dawnsville's long lost secrets.
"We didn't think much of the destination and coordinates", said Daniel Ike. "It was one evening my friends and I went out to explore them just as a joke. What we discovered was amazing."
Daniel Ike and his friends discovered a cave filled ancient gold, diamonds and gems. It appears as if these items were the same ones that the old citizens of Dawnsville lost so many years ago to the thieves.
"I went out to the cave and believe that what they discovered was indeed the cave that we have been searching for", said Blank. "It's amazing that this has been discovered. We are in the process of creating exhibits for the local history museum. I think this will really be a turning point for Dawnsville."
