In support of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to increase the participation of UAE nationals in the job market, and in line with the pronouncement of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to designate 2013 as the year of Emiratisation, Palm Utilities, a Dubai World company, has announced that it has recently received the first batch of Emiratis who have joined the company as part of its Emiratisation program.

Marwan Al Naqi, Chief Executive Officer of Palm Utilities, said: "I am pleased to welcome the first batch of UAE nationals in our company. We are committed to supporting the Emiratisation policy pursued by the Government to reflect the vision and directives of the wise leadership, and to help enhance the quality of life of citizens and secure a stable career in the future."

"Emiratisation is on top of our priorities as it serves as a pillar for our success and the company's long-term sustainability. The announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, that 2013 will be the year of Emiratisation, has further motivated us to work harder to provide career opportunities for UAE nationals and enable them to contribute to the continuing growth and development of the company. We have a well-defined plan to fill vital posts in the company, and this is supported by financial and administrative resources necessary for the success of the Emiratisation program. We therefore look forward to helping strengthen the job market for UAE nationals who are fully competent with the right skills and high-level expertise," added Al Naqi.

"In addition, we have designed a special training program to equip local graduates with technical, administrative and practical skills. This program is based on an integrated teaching methodology that combines theoretical and practical training in order to enhance the technical, creative and personal skills of university degree holders in the field of electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering, as well as high school graduates," he concluded.

The initiative reflects the keenness of Palm Utilities to support the UAE's Emiratisation program, which has long been an integral part of UAE's strategy for sustainable development. The company further revealed that it is actively supporting the "Absher" initiative launched by His Highness the President of the UAE, aiming to employ 20,000 nationals within the next five years and facilitate the greater participation of the national labor force in driving forward the UAE's socioeconomic development plan.
