(prHWY.com) November 16, 2012 - Derby Line, VT -- Derby Line, Vermont, November 05, 2012 -- Fifty-percent of the proceeds from Perkins' books in the B.T. and Jimmy Adventure Series, "The Mystery of the Silver Statue," and his newest addition to the series, "The Mystery of the Brick Kingdom," will be donated to the American Association for Cancer Research, the world's first and largest professional organization dedicated to advancing cancer research and its mission to prevent and cure cancer.

"The American Association for Cancer Research is grateful to Mr. Perkins for his support of cancer research. We applaud him for utilizing his talents in such a way as to inspire and educate young readers about the challenges faced by those affected by cancer, something near and dear to his heart," wrote the AACR.

"The Mystery of the Silver Statue," published in February 2010, and "The Mystery of the Brick Kingdom," due to be released on October 1, 2012, follows the exploits of a teenage detective who beats cancer, but struggles with the effects of surgery and radiation treatments.

With a mixture of action, adventure, and history, the books chronicle the adventures of B.T., the main character, and Jimmy, his partner, while providing inspirational stories about facing adversity and overcoming life's struggles.

One reader's quote says it all: "Brings tears to my eyes, Ray. I am so proud of you, your family, and your accomplishments. What an inspiration you are to many, as you poignantly touch upon the inner struggles in life in such a way that all who read these books are not even realizing that they will have a lasting effect on all who read them. Anxiously awaiting your next book. Love to you all."

Embark on the journey of the B.T. and Jimmy Adventure Series, and know the good your purchase will do, as half of the proceeds benefit the fight against one of the world's most insidious diseases -- cancer. Cancer research has been, and continues to be, the path to finding new and alternative ways to prevent and cure cancer, a disease that will touch the lives of one in two men and one in three women. Approximately 1.64 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer and about 577,190 will die of the disease in 2012 alone.
