Extreme Plastic Surgery - How Much is Too Much?
Extreme Plastic Surgery - How Much is Too Much?
(prHWY.com) October 22, 2012 - Pabna, Bangladesh -- We live in a culture where physical beauty is held up as one of the highest virtues attainable - but has our obsession with appearance gone too far? Several recent examples demonstrate what happens when cosmetic surgery goes beyond the bounds of a few touch-ups for health or self esteem and into the world of the weird and whacky. Here are some of the world's most bizarre cosmetic surgery excesses and blunders - and a few tips on what constitutes safe and healthy cosmetic changes.

Many Hollywood stars are no stranger to going under the knife - and it seems even cosmetic surgeons to the stars are only human. Recently photos of Mickey Rourke in recovery from his latest round of plastic surgery appeared on the web. However, despite the shock value these pictures have produced, they aren't an accurate portrayal of plastic surgery gone wrong - it's normal for patients to require a healing period in which they may look a little less than beautiful.

A much more disturbing example occurred in a case where a woman engaged in unprofessional and unlicensed plastic surgery operations - even on herself. A con artist by the name of Oneal Ron Morris was arrested late last year for performing illegal plastic surgery operations on multiple women, in which such materials as tire sealant and even concrete were injected into the victims. Bafflingly, Morris had also injected herself with these substances, resulting in a rather unusual appearance including unnaturally wide hips and extended buttocks. The results, needless to say, were somewhat far removed from the new level of beauty these women were seeking.

The bottom line? Plastic surgery has its place, but it's extremely important to take any procedures very seriously, research your doctor's credentials, and don't be afraid to pay market prices for a good job. In cosmetic surgery, like anything else, you get what you pay for.
