(prHWY.com) October 15, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Residents of the small town of Tickly, Minnesota barely knew that a small software firm was calling the town's city center home. For many years, Manage It Now operated out of Tickly with only a handful of people knowing, that was until Manage It Now made it big.

The small town technology firm that developed over a dozen CMMS software titles won a contest to hit the big times in the technology world. The contest would allow the winner to create a CMMS software program that would be used by some of the biggest websites and retail companies in the world.

"We knew we just had to win this contest", explained Manage It Now founder, James Timmons. "We were distributing CMMS software to small businesses, but I always dreamed of making it big. I knew I had to do whatever it took to win."

The contest required that all participants submit their basic blueprints for a new software program that would be used by these major retailers. Many major retailers and websites have problems maintaining their website due to the sheer volume of visitors the website has and the number of pages of content.

"We knew what the problem was that these places experienced", explained Timmons. "I just had to figure out how to solve it so that I would catch people's attention with the software program."

James Timmons developed a fairly traditional software program, but it was the presentation that helped capture people's attention. Timmons used his small town to his advantage. The entire town of over 400 people showed up to help him create a video that highlighted the best parts of the software program.

"I couldn't believe that so many people showed up when I was filming the promo contest video", said Timmons. "I was really warmed by how responsive people were to the event. I just couldn't believe it."

It was the huge support from the community that got people to pay attention to Timmons. The judges of the contest were almost brought to tears as residents told stories about how Timmons always had a dream of becoming a big software developer.

"We just were extremely touched by such a show of support from the community", said contest judge Noel Timers. "We knew we just had to interview him for the next round. And he was just so friendly in person and his ideas were just so great he had to win."
