Nokia recently announced the launch of Lumia 920 and 820 handsets which will be powered by Windows Phone 8. This might help Nokia to regain its dominance from Apple and Samsung in handsets market.
(prHWY.com) September 10, 2012 - Hicksville, NY -- Nokia ruled the mobile handset market for a long period in the last decade. But in recent times it has suffered a lot due to the players like Apple, Samsung and HTC. Seeing the mobile app development boom for the platforms like iOS and Android , Symbian seemed to lag behind. Nokia tied up with Microsoft in 2011 to provide Windows based smart phones to their users. They offered Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 7.5 OS and now with the announcement made in the special event hosted by Nokia and Microsoft in New York, they are all set to launch the new Windows Phone 8 handsets Lumia 920 and Lumia 820.
Lumia 920 is Nokia's flagship phone and it has PureView imaging. Nokia sees camera as the critical differentiating point in the mobile handset market for them. With PureView imaging users will be able to have a great photo capturing experience even in the low light situations. It uses floating lens technology camera that is 5 times more sensitive to light compared to the other smart phone cameras available in the market. It also boasts a technology that compensates the hand jerks while clicking pictures. Talking about the specs, Lumia 920 has a dual core 1.5Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM. It has an internal 32GB of storage and an 8MP camera. Nokia has introduced wireless charger that carries Qi wireless power standard. It is an induction based system and users will have to avail this option by purchasing the cover separately.
Many enthusiasts were expecting a bit more than what Nokia revealed in this event. There are no signs of release date, price and carriers it will be going to get launched on. As per the announcements users will get their hands on the phones somewhere before the end of 2012.
