(prHWY.com) August 17, 2012 - Ghaziabad, India -- A little rain didn't dampen the spirit of Zest 2012, Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad's student talent showcase. Being sponsored by Cinch, PVR, Opulent, Lobozz & Raga's Academy and Cherub's Hair & Nail Studio Zest 2012 was a huge success.
Organized by the Cultural Committee, Zest gives students a platform to display their abilities in various art forms like dance, music and dramatics and event organizing.
With the theme 'From IMT to my IMT' Zest 2012 got off to a rocking start Aug. 2 with a performance by the band '3+ Work-Ex' - their own composition 'IMT Blues' sung by Rahul was highly appreciated by the audience. Sujay, whose voice was compared with Shafgat Amanat Ali, gave an awesome performance along with his band doing renditions of 'Sayonee' and 'Ankho Ke Saagar.'
Sushant proved to be an exceptional guitar player and Mithila won the hearts of the crowd with her sensational voice, performing Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' and 'Someone Like You'. Debajib took a more classical approach, singing 'Teri Deewani'.
The dramatics portion saw the skit 'Mango IMTian'; a mime performance by Gokul and Himanshu depicting the life of an IMT student and a skit called 'Petrol God' which focused everyone's attention on rising petrol prices.When the dancers took the stage they enthralled the audience with a perfect blend of eastern and western moves.
Bollywood theme dancers Jency, Uttra and Priyanka inspired everyone and the elegant classical dance moves of Shreya and Samridhi were pleasing to the eye. Saumya Kumar burned up the stage with her solo performance, while j azz performers Soumya, Deepna, Sakshi and Surbhi and the Bhangra boys in Green-Red dazzled the audience.
"After seeing what I could learn, I fully intend to join in the Cultural Committee's dance workshops," said Pankaj, PGDM 2012- 2014. "The performances here were truly professional."And student Ritika agreed: "The singing, the acting, the dancing - who would have thought you would find such professional artistic talent at a business school?"
The much awaited fashion show with the theme 'Old Prom versus New Prom' wrapped up the performance portion of Zest 2012 and then everyone got into the act, dancing to the Desi and Pardesi beats of DJ Anil.
