When you get connect to the internet first time, balloon tip pops up showing connection details. As many times your connection get disturbed due to network conjunction and get connects back again. It shows balloon tip to show the variable status. These balloon tips are helpful to recognize the icons as well as to know the status of current running programs. But sometimes it gets disturbed in between any important work to distract the attention. Therefore to get rid of them you can disable the balloon tips by making changes in windows registry.
Go through below steps to disable balloon tips in notification area:
* Click the 'Start' menu button, then select and click 'Run'
* Type REGEDIT in text box and click on 'OK'
* 'Registry Editor' will open. In the left pane of the Registry Editor window, double click on 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER'
* Then double click on 'Software', 'Microsoft', 'Windows', 'CurrentVersion', 'Explorer' then click on 'Advanced'
* At the right pane of window, you will see data values. Right click in right pane, select 'New' and 'DWORD value' from the Context Menu
* Enter value name 'EnableBalloonTips'.
* Double click the value. It will allow you to edit that value.
* In 'Value Data' field enter value 0 (zero) and click on 'Ok'
* Exit Registry Editor, log off from Windows and again log on back.
* You will see that balloon tips are disabled in notification area.
* If you want to enable balloon tips again, you have to modify in Registry by modifying the value to 1 (one) as per above process.
