Inventor Uses Favorite Movie to Create Home Theater System That is Hands-On

(prHWY.com) May 30, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory featured a scene where the little boy was sucked into a television set. This was done in an effort to make the viewing experience realistic. While many people cast this type of technology and thought aside as something done only for TV or movies, a technology firm in Seattle has come up with a way to make that home theater system do exactly what Willy Wonka did.

"I was always intrigued with the little boy who got sucked up into the TV", said Jose Batista, founder of Realistic Solutions. "When I got my degree in advanced technology and physics, I knew I could come up with a way to recreate what happened in Willy Wonka."

Realistic Solutions has invented an at-home theater system that transports the viewer from their chairs, and takes them directly into the movie or TV show. No longer will people only have to experience the sights and sounds of the movie experience, they can actually live it out.

The technology requires a laser beam to sit behind the TV screen. When viewers wish to enter a TV show or movie, they push a button and are sent directly into the scene.

"It would be really cool to make this work with every show on TV", said Batista. "Unfortunately, that isn't able to happen. Right now we can only transport people into movies and TV shows that are compatible with our system, but we have some really cool ones you can take part in."

Some of the TV shows and movies people can take part in include a pirate ship in search of sunken treasure, a space ship visiting Mars, or a battle over new territory. Some scenes that are in the works include a medieval castle, forest adventure, and a dessert retreat.

"We really want people to have a full hands-on experience when they watch TV", said Batista. "This will be really cool and fun and will take off. I just can't wait for the day when we can be transported into movies like Willy Wonka."

The home theater system has successfully passed the beta stage, and is ready to be unveiled at the next Technology Inventors convention. Feedback in the beta stage has been fairly positive.

"I have never experienced anything like it at all", said beta tester number 156. "It really is something unique and fun, though it tickled a little when I was transported into the show."
