Global Universities eying India as a New Platform

(prHWY.com) December 2, 2010 - Mumbai, India -- Mumbai- 02nd December, 2010: E-Cube Global College is creating newer avenues in the field of engineering by launching their 'twining' programs in association with Newcastle University.

The Certificate Programmes at the E-Cube Global College are in Computing Science, Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. These are 11 month courses which have been established with the assistance of Newcastle University. The Certificate Programmes cover similar material to the first year of the degree courses at Newcastle University in these subject areas. The Certificate Programme is a recognised qualification for direct entry to the second year of the corresponding degree programmes at Newcastle University.

This would give Indian students who aspire to pursue engineering in India a global exposure.
Honorable HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal has made basic education available to all Indian students, which has been well discussed and written. Need of the young generation today is changing, they want more than basic education. Global education plays a vital role to shape the student's career to imbibe different cultures and knowledge.

India has a severe shortage of higher education institutions for its booming population where more than 30% of its 1.1 billion people are under 14 years of age. To improve the educational prospects in India, the union Cabinet on the 16th of March, 2010, approved the Foreign Educational Institution (Regulation of Entry and Operation) Bill, 2010. With the clearance of this bill, Foreign Education providers will be able to offer degree programmes independently in India. This, in Mr. Sibal's view, will save millions of dollars as Indian students will be able to study in foreign universities, while staying in India.

A progressive society needs professionals of varied talent to ensure its all round development!
Mr. Sandeep Goenka, Director of E Cube, aired his views on foreign universities coming to India.
"Change is inevitable and I believe in moving with the times. It's the generation of international degrees and Indian students deserve the best. With the Education Ministry recognizing the importance of foreign universities, the most economical option for Indians will be twining programmes.
Encompassing the best of both worlds, these programmes will offer affordable but qualitative curricula, global exposure and lucrative careers to the deserving. I look forward to India being the educational hub of Asia in the next 10 years".

"Imparting education is a satisfying feeling. However, I am still dissatisfied. After establishing two very successful BHIS's at Juhu and Thane, I feel I still have a long way to go. Right to Education is not only a campaign, but a necessity. These thoughts gave way to ECube Global College, the next best step in education. With a strategic and exclusive association with Newcastle University in the UK, today I am able to offer qualitative technical engineering courses to Indian students at affordable values. The journey has finally begun and with education, the sky is not the limit".

This will also expand the Higher Education offering in India, which will supplement the Government's efforts to ramp up the number of seats for technical education and the quality of learning. Foreign Universities like Yale have welcomed the move of the government. "It will increase quality and access in the Indian education system. It is an opportunity programme for the foreign universities," says, George Joseph, Assistant Secretary for International Affairs of Yale University. (Emphasize on the Indian governments acceptance of the concept and their vision)
A lot is written about education sector in India and its available options; need for reforms in the sector; locally meeting its requirements and the 'available' business opportunity to bring about a change. If we try to identify two major factors affecting the growth of Indian Economy - they are: country's lack of 'higher education' standard and the growing population. Entry of international institute can serve the purpose of growing needs for higher education in India.
