MISS VENUSâ„¢: NOT JUST ANOTHER BEAUTY PAGEANT
A Television Competition To Promote Body Acceptance Among Full-Figured Women
(prHWY.com) December 14, 2011 - Las Vegas, NV -- The stick-thin skinny image is still being paraded across America. The "skinny campaign" has left full-figured women doubtful about their own body image. Project Venus was established to promote self-worth, a positive self-image, and to improve body acceptance among these women. The televising of the pageant is to bring national recognition to the beauty of full-figured women.

Unlike other traditional and television beauty pageants, Miss Venusâ„¢ is opened to women who are of a pant size 14 to 28 and of the ages 18 to 54. The new pageant will benefit 51 women in ways that other plus pageants don't - it will make a difference in their lives. It gives them the opportunity to be seen on national television, the opportunity to compete for $50,000 in cash, the opportunity to become a well-known role model, and the opportunity to travel the country and make a difference.

The pageant's name is not just for fun but has a meaningful purpose. Venus is the Roman Aphrodite; the goddess of love and beauty. As like other Roman statues, she has always been portrayed as a thick woman - which is a sign of beauty and wealth. In unison with this deity's image, contestants will be required to do community service; thus spreading the love through charity.

The search has begun! Project Venus is now searching for contestants to participate in its upcoming 2012 televised Miss Venusâ„¢ Pageant. MissVenus.org was established as a way to spread the word about Project Venus. The site offers information about how to audition to become a contestant.
