According to a survey conducted by Intel, it was found that fax machines are the most commonly used part of office equipment by a small and medium business. The questions were asked by 3000 SMBs having less than 250 employees about how they make use of the technology.
Out of ten IT users, it was found that four users still uses fax machine in SMBs, whereas 36% make use of laptops, 16% make use of smartphones and 1.4% make use of tablets only.
Managing director of Intel UK, Graham Palmer, asked Pc Pro, "Why most of the people still make use of old technology of fax machines? As fax machine still works for them. Graham Palmer quoted "Though fax machines are very old techniques, but it's still somewhat that are ranked very high among SMBs".
Most of half of the SMBs refused to implement any of the new technology because of the short of capital finance or availability of the staff ready to do that work. Many others also refused to update PCs or other technology till the next year.
