According to a company statement, changes on the website consist of a new tagging system, dynamic pages for all writers, and a more intelligent automated system for related content. Earlier this month the paper scrapped its international print editions and introduced a metered paywall for overseas visitors to the site. The Independent is also set to launch a new iPad newspaper application. The website, which launched in 1999, has endured various redesigns in 2007 and 2007.
