High School Prom Goers get Real Life Fairy God Mothers
JAZZY GIRLS LUXURY HAIR COLLECTION PARTNER UP WITH OTHER WOMEN OWNED BUSINESSES TO SEND TWO LOCAL GIRLS TO PROM
(prHWY.com) May 2, 2013 - Houston, TX -- Houston- (May 2, 2013) - Jazzy Girls Luxury Hair Collection and Beauty Boutique partnered with edgy and vintage clothing boutique, The Boutique, along with make-up staple, LAMIK Beauty, to make the prom experience a possibility for a few local, 5th ward, high school teenage girls. On Friday, May 3rd, Barbara Jordan High School senior, Bria Riggs and Kashmere High School senior, Alendria Bage, will receive an all-expense paid pampering day at Jazzy Girls Beauty Boutique, 2015 W. Alabama St. The pampering day will start as early as 12 p.m. and will include a fitting and styling of prom dresses with The Boutique, shampoo and style service with Jazzy Girls master stylist, Tristan Fruge and make-up application by LAMIK Beauty make-up artists; all right in time for prom night which is on May 3rd.
"Giving back is high up on my list of things to do as a business owner because I understand the power of giving back", stated Velma Trayham, owner and CEO of Jazzy Girls Luxury Hair Collection and Beauty Boutique. "I got to attend my senior prom and it makes me happy to partner with the other business to make this night to remember possible for younger girls."
The senior prom usually marks the rite of passage from teenager to adulthood for most young girls. On average, one can expect to spend anywhere from $500- $1,000 plus on expenditures like a dress, hair, nail and make-up appointments, accessories and transportation. The high cost to pay for this event that only comes once for many girls results in some prom ages girls having to sit the lavish event out. Due to the generosity and philanthropy of businesses like Jazzy Girls Luxury Hair Collection, The Boutique and LAMIK Beauty, prom night will be a night that these seniors will actually experience.
"We cannot thank these young ladies enough for choosing to come back to their communities and do such a wonderful thing," stated Kashmere High School Counselor Karol McNary with tears in her eyes. "This could not have come at a better time; the student receiving the dress had just left my office saying she had to get her money back because she could not afford to go to prom."
