(prHWY.com) March 14, 2013 - Florida, FL -- Florida, Mar 14, 2013 - Prison consultants are generally former inmates or former criminal justice professionals (e.g., prison guards, prison administrators, etc.) who have gone into private practice. Many have significant experience either working in the prison system in which the potential client will be incarcerated or they have lived in and successfully navigated the system. In either case, they tend to be enterprising individuals who realize that their experiences qualify them to provide a needed service that no one wants to be in the position of needing, but nevertheless do.
Federal Prison Consultant - For the most part, as a federal prison inmate, you would need to simply do as instructed and simply focus on the fact that you could earn good time credit towards a reduction in your prison sentence. It's all about getting out of prison and back to your family or back to the life you had before prison. While in prison, you don't want to get involved with the following:
Many federal inmates subscribe to the belief that the grass is greener on the other side. That another prison will always be better than the one in which they are currently housed. The same appears to be true of those at lower security prisons reminiscing about how great it was at a higher level security prison (which is probably a matter of bravado and not true). Drugs are even worse in federal prison. Often drugs do make their way in - its best to take advantage of an Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) if one is available to you. There are many different programs afforded to inmates to help them get clean before they get out. Its best to take advantage of any program that can keep you out of your cell a little longer with like minded people just trying to make their lives better.
Prison Consulting Group - However, there are also other reasons why an inmate might want to be housed at a different institution, and many of them are valid. Perhaps there is a facility closer to home, or there is a vocational program that seems like an attractive option. Regardless of the reason for desiring a transfer, there are specific methods to go about seeking one. Yet, as is the case with most things within the Federal Bureau of Prisons, generating a transfer is more of an art than a science.
