Popeye's Honors Guillermo Perales

Throughout the several years he has worked as a Popeye's franchisee, Guillermo Perales has earned a number of awards from the national chain. Popeye's has a strong corporate recognition program, and prides itself in awarding good work done by its franchisees and employees. Each award was accompanied by a congratulatory note and plaque thanking Guillermo Perales for his work.

Guillermo Perales was awarded the Developer of the Year award three times, in 2003, 2004, and 2006, for his role in building new Popeye's stores and growing the brand across the country. He also won the prestigious Gold Plate award three times. This award joins three Silver Plate awards and two Bronze Plate awards, all of which are awarded to franchisees who exemplify Popeye's values and exceed its standards. He was named the #1 in Operations Excellence out of all Popeye's franchisees in 2006, 2007, and 2008 for the great work that is done by the franchises he owns. As Sun Holdings has grown over the years, the praise and accolades have increased.

Guillermo Perales is the second largest Popeye's franchisee in the country. He owns and operates 72 Popeye's stores, and is in the process of acquiring four more in Oklahoma and in Texas. He purchased his first Popeye's franchise in 1998 and has been growing his holdings ever since then. Currently, his company, Sun Holdings, LLC owns more than 400 franchises. Most of the stores are in Texas, but the company has holdings throughout the United States.

Popeye's praised Guillermo Perales as a smart businessman with a good instinct about where they should build stores. "His stores are always run to the best of Popeye's standards," says a representative, "he is an exemplary franchisee. We are thrilled to have him on our team."

Now, Guillermo Perales is a Board Member for the Popeye's Independent Franchisee Association. He works with fellow franchisees to create a good working environment for franchisees and to foster open communication between the brand and its store holders.
