With cooler temperatures overnight being the norm, many homes could very well have compromised electrical wires and components. Due to the exceptionally dry air of the desert, combined with the heat of the summer, the insulation of the wires may have been expanded and dried out. With colder nights, that same insulation will now contract, leading to cracks and exposed wiring. These exposed wires can cause shorts, tripped circuits, and even fires.
With the holiday season coming up, and higher demand being placed upon residential wiring systems, these compromised wires will have more load and stress put on them, thus making any minor problems into major ones. Synergy suggest scheduling a quick and easy inspection of the electrical and wiring systems to detect and fix any such compromised wires and components before a fire can start. They are fully licensed, insured, bonded, and even cleared by the LVMPD to do work in their secure buildings.
