Sofia Sondervan Celebrates Successful Career as Producer

Sofia Sondervan is grateful for her growing work as a film producer.

Denver, CO (prHWY.com) December 10, 2012 - Sofia Sondervan can proudly call herself a producer. She has been working diligently behind the scenes developing many different films since 2001. Sofia Sondervan can easily point to a period of time where her career as a film producer began. Prior to that she got a lot of experience doing acquisitions, sales and business affairs, prepping her for the all-inclusive job of a producer.
For Sofia Sondervan, her name started appearing in the production credits in 2003. That year, Party Monster starring Macaulay Culkin, The Hebrew Hammer starring Adam Goldberg, and Rick starring Bill Pullman were released. Along with the release of these three movies, Sofia Sondervan also worked on films including The Cooler and Thank You for Smoking.

"Working in the film industry was always my dream," says Sofia Sondervan, "and it was a great moment in my life when my name appeared in the movie credits as a producer." These three movies made by Sofia Sondervan were only the beginning of her career. It was in 2005 that another film produced by Sofia Sondervan was released.

In the earlier part of her career, Sofia Sondervan took the position of Head of East Coast Production for ContentFilm. "It was through ContentFilm studios that I produced The King in 2005," says Sofia Sondervan. The film played in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. Another of Sofia Sondervan's films, Cadillac Records was made and released through TriStar Pictures in 2008.

Sofia Sondervan, like many professionals, will take new titles and positions where they see it benefits their career ambitions. "In 2005, I was hired by Andrew Lack, the CEO of Sony BMG Music Entertainment, to start a film division. In 2005 I created a division at Sony Music called Sony Music Film where I headed the division," says Sofia Sondervan. It was through Sony Music Film that Sofia Sondervan created one of her most popular films. In 2008, the film Cadillac Records was released.

"It is a wonderful film. It is a historical drama and stars Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, and Beyonce Knowles." What also helped make this film a success for Sofia Sondervan were the various awards the film had been nominated for. Cadillac Records was nominated for a Golden Globe and eight NAACP awards. Sofia Sondervan's most recent film to be released is 2012's Bringing Up Bobby starring Milla Jovovich.
