Melbourne Hospital Development Receives Multiple Prices for Design reports Interior Designer

Australian top designers continue receiving awards for designs

San Antonio, TX (prHWY.com) November 26, 2012 - San Francisco, CA- The Interior designawards has been recognizing Australia's best, with many esteemed names coming up time and time again the a ceremonies through the area.
The InteriorDesign Excellence Awards (IDEA), housed the top winner, who continued their winning ways in an ongoing string of success.

Billard Leece Partnership and Bates Smart took home the top prize for their Royal Children's Hospital development in Melbourne. The design is a multi-award winner. The design was recognized as both an Overall and Public Space categories, and the hospital design has been given repeated praise for the use of color and its innovative designs.

Such design quality has helped alleviate the stress of conventional hospitals, according to design experts, and gives a more pleasing environment for patients.

The Hospital project also earned the 2012 Premier Award forInterior Design Excellence & Innovation. The awards deciding body noted the 'highly complex, technical, responsive, and above all, beautiful hospital interior.'

"The phenomenally well conceived and exquisitely realized Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne is this year's deserving recipient of the IDEA 2012 Overall Winner award," says jury chair Leanne Amodeo. "Encompassing a family-centred care model that considers the child - as well as the parents, sisters, brothers and grandparents - the RCH's interiors utilise evidence-based design principles to create a new benchmark for hospital design."

The Designers of the year award went to Breath Architecture. Helen Kontouris took home the People's Choice Award.
