Paradise Outdoor Advertising, which specialises in investigative market, and sourcing independent and reliable research to understanding how effective billboard advertising really is, has announced the launch of two brand new billboard ad campaigns aimed at helping the local communities of North Queensland that were affected by Cyclone Yasi in February.

According to Mitch James, Sales Director of Paradise outdoor advertising, the billboard ad campaigns will run for six months to direct business into these areas. "Although many companies have been battered by Cyclone Yasi, it is important to their survival that the message they're 'still open for business' is spread," noted Mitch.

Meanwhile, the other campaign is directed at promoting the Townsville 400 V8 Supercars Festival scheduled for July 8 - 10.
"This Townsville 400 V8 Supercars Festival billboard campaign is scheduled to take place along the Bruce Highway north and south of Townsville," said Townsville 400 Committee Chairman Tony Parsons.

He believed the billboards would play a significant role in promoting the event, as according to a report, following the 2010 Townsville 400 Festival, about 73 per cent of the 81,000 visitors to the region for the inaugural event had travelled to the city by car, with only 20 per cent arriving by plane.

''These billboards will help build the excitement surrounding the Townsville 400 Festival which will be held from the 8th - 10th July, and for the whole line-up of events in July,'' chairman Tony Parsons said.

Paradise outdoor advertising, which isn't only Queensland's leading billboard and outdoor advertising company but one of the largest across Australia, has over 800 outdoor advertising billboard locations.

According to Mitch, the company "provides excellent out of home advertising opportunities in and around all major regional city centres of central and north Queensland including Townsville, Cairns, Bowen, Mackay, Ingham, Bundaberg and Rockhampton."

The company was started by Phil James in the mid 1980s, where he installed, painted and maintained a series of roadside signs by himself.
