Another advantage the LED bulb has on its alternatives is that it has a much longer life as compared to the others. A gu10 led once installed will provide light for up to 35,000hours. Depending upon the conditions and usage, it may even give you 50,000hours of bright light without being expired. If you try to touch an incandescent bulb after it has been lit for a long time it will burn your hand. The reason is that it produces a lot of heat when it lights up. This heat travel in the form of radiations and heat up the surroundings as well. Whereas a gu10 led bulb has a very less outflow of radiation in the form of heat. This has two benefits; one is that it does not affect the fabricthat can get burnt if placed near the light source. The second benefit is that because no heat is dispersed from an LED thus lesser energy is lost.
A led like a gu10 led bulbmay cost you more than its alternatives once you go to purchase it. Cheapest of all is the incandescent bulb, then there comes the energy saver bulb which is much more expensive than incandescent bulb. The LED bulbs are even more expensive than the energy savers but it compensates it high price during purchase with its outstanding economy during use for a very long period of time.
