StorIT reveals strategic new partnership with Mellanox Technologies

Leading company to address ME demand for solutions with more computing power, efficiency and scalability

StorIT, the leading data storage specialist, value added distributor in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, has announced the signing of a strategic new distributor partnership agreement with Mellanox® Technologies, a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems. The new alliance positions StorIT as the Value Added Distributor of Mellanox Technologies' diverse range of Ethernet and InfiniBand interconnect solutions, including adapters, switches, cables and software, for the GCC, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Levant and the North African regions. Partnering with Mellanox Technologies strongly complements StorIT's continuing move to provide the region with complete end-to-end solutions that can help address the growing demand for systems that offer superior application performance, efficiency and scalability.

Globally Mellanox is a leader in the fast 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet interconnect category and is recognised as a leading InfiniBand product vendor, which addresses a wide range of datacenter markets like high-performance computing, financial services, database, web 2.0, internet and the cloud. As part of the initial moves to make the partnership known, StorIT is set to showcase these unique solutions during their participation at this year's edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), an annual consumer computer electronics trade show, which will be held from October 14, 2012 to October 18, 2012 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The StorIT exhibition stand will be located at Hall 6, and Stand No CLD - 17.

Recent industry reports have revealed that the advent of faster storage technologies has shifted the storage bottleneck from storage media to the I/O interconnect segment, which has sped up considerably even if it continues to remain the limiting factor in improving the performance of data centres. With this in mind, the partnership between Mellanox and StorIT proves to be very timely as the latter will provide the former with a comprehensive action plan that includes channel spread, sales, post and pre-sales architecture, design, and implementation.

Over the last few years, StorIT has designed and implemented a channel program that aims to add considerable value to its alignment of vendors, thereby helping resellers and end users to build demand around leading storage multi-vendor offerings.
