Folder Lock Fully Compatible with Windows 8

Windows 8 is certainly a favorite among tablet computer users; though, when it comes to the desktop version of Windows 8, the jury may still be out.

Beaverton, CA (prHWY.com) September 24, 2012 - According to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Windows 8 is a winner, he envision Microsoft to become "devices and services" based organization in the next five to ten years time. In an interview with Seattle times, he was asked "What will Microsoft do if Windows 8 doesn't take off?" Ballmer shrugged off the question by answering: "I'm not paid to have doubts."

It seems like Ballmer doesn't want to show his pessimistic side, and seem to speak with great confidence. However, Ballmer admitted that, though, Windows 8 works great on tablet computers, the same cannot be said about desktop computers, as users have complained about using Windows 8 on desktop computers as a highly disorientating experience.

When asked about the rebranding of Microsoft and where the company is headed in the next five to ten years, Ballmer replied: "I think when you look forward, our core capability will be software, (but) you'll probably think of us more as a devices-and-services company," he said. "Which is a little different." Software powers devices and software powers these cloud services, but it's a different form of delivery."

One subject that wasn't covered in the interview was related to data security softwares. Though, it may be fair to say, as it has been the same case with every Microsoft operating system in the past, it's no surprise that Windows 8 may be facing the same hurdles as its predecessors. With organization depending more and more on computers, they risk the security of their desktop based private data. Many organizations have either developed their own data encryption and or locking software, or are currently using third-party versions. According to data security analyst Jonathan Ladd, "Organizations that are keen to upgrade their systems with Windows 8 may be risking the safety of their desktop based private data, as many third party encryption software may fail to work in Windows 8 environment, though there are exceptions to this issue; software such as Folder Lock are already proven to work with Windows 8 without any issues."
