Bentours launches Antarctica 2013 brochure
A special Christmas expedition to South Georgia and an adventure to the rarely visited Weddell Sea are among the unforgettable new voyages added to Bentours Antarctica Holidays 2013/14 program.
Bentours' new Antarctica brochure includes the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and features 10 voyages which showcase the dramatic beauty and unique wildlife of the world's last great wilderness, as well as three Latin America extensions.
Three new itineraries have been added including the 17-day South Georgia Anniversary Voyage, a nostalgic Christmas expedition which celebrates the 100th birthday of South Georgia's Grytviken Church from $9255* per person twin share.
The cruise departs 19 December 2013 and includes four days in South Georgia observing seal and king penguin colonies, abandoned whaling stations and the grave of great explorer Ernest Henry Shackleton. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are spent in Grytviken attending two special services at the church, which was built in Norway, erected by whalers and consecrated on Christmas Day 1913. New Year is spent discovering the wildlife and stunning ice formations of Antarctica.
Bentours has also added the 15-day The Antarctic Peninsula and the Weddell Sea from $9999* per person twin share. Home to colossal icebergs, diverse wildlife colonies and the world's clearest ocean waters, the Weddell Sea is best known as the area where Shackleton's vessel Endurance met its end.
Also new is The Great Antarctic Expedition, an epic 19-day voyage to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Orkneys and Antarctic Peninsula.
