Camp Soaring Eagle Chooses 'CANDY LAND' as Theme for 2012 Annual Affair

Camp Soaring Eagle will be having its 2012 Annual Affair at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Ariz. on October 20th, 2012. It will be hosted by famous actress, philanthropist and CSE spokesperson Jane Seymour.

Sedona, AZ (prHWY.com) September 6, 2012 - Sedona, AZ, September 06, 2012 -- Camp Soaring Eagle will be having its 2012 Annual Affair at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Ariz. on October 20th, 2012. It will be hosted by famous actress, philanthropist and CSE spokesperson Jane Seymour.

The theme of the 2012 Camp Soaring Eagle Annual Affair is 'CANDY LAND', featuring décor, cuisine and entertainment based on the popular children's board game.

"CANDY LAND was designed in 1945 by a school teacher named Eleanor Abbott who was recovering at the time from one of the era's most frightening diseases, Polio," explains Jennifer Perry, Executive Director of Camp Soaring Eagle.

"Though an older adult at the time, Eleanor witnessed firsthand the pain and suffering that Polio inflicted on children," Perry continued. "With remarkable vision and insight, she created a simple board game with a very lofty goal...provide children suffering from this debilitating malady a mental distraction and a few hours of fun. It seemed a perfect theme choice, as our mission at Camp Soaring Eagle is precisely what Eleanor Abbott was trying to do."

The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a golf tournament, followed by a VIP Reception at 5 p.m., and then the 'CANDY LAND' Gala beginning at 6 p.m.

Among the highlights of the event are live entertainment, 'CANDY LAND' games where one can win a diamond ring or Jane Seymour's Open Heart jewelry, a silent auction, a multi-course dinner, 'CANDY LAND' food stations, and a live auction.
