Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy involves clients in global initiative
BRISBANE - August 30, 2012. Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy clinic is excited to celebrate World Physiotherapy Day on September 8th, as part of a global endeavour to raise awareness about the important contribution of physiotherapy to health care.

World Physiotherapy Day endeavours to increase society's understanding of physiotherapy as a fully documented treatment in restoring people to their full mobility. Commonly associated with treating sports injuries, physiotherapists can also assist with alleviating general muscle pains, improving strength, posture and balance, recovering from surgery, and treating incontinence issues. Whilst global recognition of physiotherapy as a fundamental on-going process in rehabilitation has come a long way, there is still much room for improvement.
Bobbie-Jo Strong, owner of Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy knows all too well the struggles that physiotherapy has gone through in becoming credited as a vital health care industry. In fact there are countless evidence-based studies documenting the benefits of physiotherapy for all ages. 'Physiotherapy is amazing because everybody can benefit from it in some way, from school children to seniors. We aren't your one-off quick fix, we provide holistic, continuous training and education for life', as Bobbie-Jo stated.
Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy have been getting behind the APA's 'I love my physio' competition by directly involving their clients in a friendly photo competition. Every client who comes in has the opportunity to get their photo taken for the 'I love my physio' wall, and on the 10th of September one lucky person's photo will be drawn to win 3 free physiotherapy sessions at Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy. 'It's been a great way to get involved in promoting World Physiotherapy Day, as well as creating a real sense of community between our staff and valued clients', said Andrea Saverymuthapulle, senior physiotherapist.
The 'I love my physio' competition asks people to nominate an APA physiotherapist who has helped change their life for the better, with the prize being an iPad and $1000. To enter clients simply need to write (in 50 words or less) who they have nominated and why, and also include their own name and contact details. Entries close on September 5th and can be sent to comp@physiotherapy.asn.au or addressed to the Australian Physiotherapy Association at PO Box 437 Hawthorn BC VIC 3122.
