Common Search Engine Optimisation Mistakes
Here are the SEO mistakes that web designers, web developers and web optimisers should avoid while creating an SEO friendly website.

Splash Pages: Splash page is a thing of the past, and should stay there. Not only is this bad for SEO, it's also bad for your overall online success. Your homepage is probably your website's highest ranking page and frequently crawled by search engine crawlers. If you use splash page as your home/landing page, your internal pages will not appear in a search engine index as they are not linked to your home page and crawlers will not get a proper path to follow them.
Flash Navigation: Many people make this mistake by using Flash in navigation. Yes, sometimes it looks good for the business but it can't be seen by the search engines as they find links in Flash difficult to follow.
Image & Flash Content: Search engine crawlers can't read content placed in images and flash. Don't embed important content (such as keywords) in Flash and images.
AJAX Feature: Try to avoid AJAX feature as this is a big SEO mistake. As Ajax content is loaded dynamically, it is not spiderable or indexable by search engines. However, if you want to use AJAX in any case, try to keep navigations and main content out of AJAX feature so that they can be indexed properly by search engines.
Empty Image Alt Attribute: You should always describe your image in the alt attribute. The alt attribute is what describes your image to blind web crawlers. Search engines can't see images, so your alt attribute is a factor in illustrating what your page is relevant for.
These things are the pillars of Search Engine Optimisation and so to your web site's success path. To know more about search engine optimisation, please visit the site http://www.newpathweb.com.au
