London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) August 13, 2012 - 13 August 2012, UK(Kamagrarx.net): As per a recent clinical study conducted by a team of scientists from Ain Shams University of Cairo and lead by Amany El-Shazly, it has been found that the exposure of children to passive smoking results in long-sightedness vision complication in them.
The prime objective of the study was to establish a proper relation and understand its effectiveness between passive smoking and its health implication in resulting long-sightedness in children. Around 300 children were being enrolled in the study and the average mean age of the kids was around 8 years.

According to the results obtained from the study, hypermetropia was observed in around 40.7% of the children; whereas, 30.7% and around 28.7% of the overall children were suffering from emmetropia and myopia respectively.
The researchers also found that there exists no drastic variation in the gender and age disparity in the children reporting the vision deformities. They further found a significant variation in the levels of urinary cotinine and also the cotinine/creatinine ratio, as per the alteration in the vision complication.
It has been shown that children with hypermetropia had higher blood levels of cotinine that were approximately 40.3 µg/L and much more than that found in normal children.
Whereas, the urine cotinine/creatinine ratio observed in hypermetropic children were 220.7, a value very higher than that observed in children with myopia and emmetropia, which was around 97.0.
The researchers also established a strong relation between the puffing inclination of the parents and the incidence of hypermetropia in children.
The study lastly proved that the occurrence of the vision complication in children relies on the rate of indoor smoking, number of cigars puffed by the parent and also the time duration of the exposure of the child to the passive smoking.
