Out of This World Characters Seek Help of Local Sedation Dentist
Sedation dentistry has been a real boon for both dentists and patients. In spite of its use for many years, however, a recent rush of patients of an unusual nature has many dentists in the Ashton, Wisconsin area scratching their heads
"I've been using sedation dentistry for a number of years now and thought I had all the angles figured out. Then I got a different type of patient: a group that turned out to be aliens. This turned my entire dental practice on its ear for quite a long time," explained Dr. John Dawson who heads the Ashton Family Dental Practice.
From the minute the aliens step into the waiting room at the dental practice, there was a great deal of whispering and staring. A few people noted the difference in their appearance when compared to other people but couldn't really put their finger on how they were different. It's true that the aliens were a little bit taller and a little bit greener than the average patient waiting in the room. Because they wore clothing, though, it took a few minutes for many people to realize how they were different.
"My son was the first one to notice these new patients were not the same as the rest of us in the waiting room. He asked me quite loudly why those people were so green and had such big eyes. After looking closer, I noticed four of the patients looked remarkably unhuman-like," shared Alan Whittaker who was taking his three year old, Ben, in for his very first dental visit and, apparently, his very first sighting of aliens in their small town of Ashton.
In spite of some initial hesitation, Dr. Dawson was happy to report that using sedation dentistry on the group of alien patients was a smooth process.
"These aliens, who are now my regular patients, needed much less sedation than their human counterparts. They also were more jovial and continued to smile during the entire procedure. Their relaxed state made it very pleasurable to work on their dental issues to the point where I was accidentally tickling them during the time I was filling their cavities."
When interviewed about their experiences with sedation dentistry and the Ashton Family Dental Practice, the aliens, though attentive to what the reporter was asking, did not offer any sort of comment beyond friendly smiles to show off their new and improved teeth.
