End Notes:
Touch Down PCR - is a method of polymerase chain reaction by which primers will avoid amplifying nonspecific sequences. The annealing temperature during a polymerase chain reaction determines the specificity of primer annealing.

High Troughput PCR - offers a cost effective alternative to amplification projects using standard PCR platforms and large numbers of samples.

Gradient PCR - is often done to try and optimize a PCR, to figure out what annealing temperatures work best.

In situ PCR - is a method in which the polymerase chain reaction actually takes place in the cell on a slide, and the product can be visualized in the same way as in traditional in situ hybridization.
