Beaverton, OR (prHWY.com) July 3, 2012 - Beaverton--July, 2, 2012 -- there's a new peril out there for blossoming businesses, an unseen threat, an impending doom that businesses consider least likely to be affected by. Thousands of small and large organizations fall victim to this menace every year, as a result, some file for bankruptcy, some end up losing on the stock market and some businesses may end up losing their reputation with shareholders. The nuisance of corporate data theft is what enterprises dread most, yet consistently fail to take apposite measures to secure such information. According to security analyst Jonathan Ladd, motive for data theft can vary, organizations which are unable to gain a competitive edge may take extremely unethical measures by hiring professional hackers to steal customer related data of competing businesses, they do this in order to gain an advantage over competitors; hackers may independently try to access files related to consumer data which can contain information on consumer addresses, credit card numbers and names, giving criminals a chance at conducting unauthorized transactions using such information. Whatever the reason, the perpetrators end up getting away and organizations are left helpless. News report published by Bloomberg on Jun 27, 2012 -- exposed that Two dozen people, residing in 13 different countries which included, Bosnia, Japan and the United States were detained in a worldwide covertly sting operation, targeting credit-card hackers said to have affected hundreds of thousands of patrons. The data was mostly stolen from various businesses and educational institutions, highlighting the often ignored threat of data theft. Ladd recommends that organizations need to protect company related sensitive data with data protection software, such software enable the organization to not only password protect certain files but the user can also encrypt those files and store them safely on a cloud server. Ladd advises businesses protect their corporate data with Folder Lock which protects your sensitive data, using the latest in military grade encryption technology.
