Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) June 27, 2012 - Egypt has a long history of regarding cats as one of the most regal types of animals on the planet. Imagine the surprise one Federal Way chiropractor got when he was personally requested by the Egyptian prime minister to conduct a special chiropractic session on one of the royal cat heirs.

"I don't normally conduct chiropractic procedures on pets", said Dr. Bess Trinket. "I studied animal chiropractic procedures in school, but the real money was in human chiropractic procedures. So that was where I opened my clinic."

Last month, Dr. Trinket received a call from the Egyptian prime minister explaining the situation. It appears that while the Egyptian government is no longer ruled by kings and queens, they do keep a royal cat in residence. The particular royal cat in residence happened to tweak its back while trying to catch a mouse and has experienced extensive back pain for months.

"It is not uncommon for a cat to experience extensive back pain", said Dr. Trinket. "In fact, the most common type of pet chiropractic procedures tends to be back ones to help relieve pain in cat's backs."

Cats have extremely flexible spinal cords. While this normally helps them move around, it can be the direct source of extreme back pain in many cats. Just one little tweak of the back and it could result in extreme pain that radiates down the entire cat's spine. Chiropractic procedures tend to help relieve that pain.

"It was extremely odd that the Egyptian prime minister would be calling me to handle the case", said Dr. Trinket. "I actually thought it was one of my kids playing a prank on me, but it turned out to be real. This cat appeared at my shop after hours with an armed escort."

The chiropractic procedure lasted approximately 20 minutes and needed to be repeated daily for two weeks. Each day the cat and its armed escort would appear at the shop and go through the entire procedure.

"It was so extremely crazy that I didn't believe it was happening", said Dr. Trinket. "But the cat and the escort kept coming back each day, until the end. I was surprised."

When the procedure ended the cat walked with considerably less pain then it did before the procedure. Dr. Trinket is unsure how or why they got her name, but she says that it'll make a good story to tell her grandchildren someday.
