According to a new research study conducted, it has been found out that the women treated for breast cancer have shown improved rates of survival.

The scientific study conducted on women patients of breast cancer showed that the patients treated with breast cancer showed improved survival rates than the non pregnant women.
This finding of the research study was done at the poster session discussion at Breast Cancer Symposium 2010 by Jennifer Litton, M.D. (Assistant professor at the MD Anderson's Department of Breast Medical Oncology).
It was a case controlled study conducted on seventy five pregnant women treated with breast cancer. This study was basically conducted with the help of the database maintained by the institution's tumor registry and Department of Breast Medical Oncology. The results of the study were compared with the group of 150 non pregnant women treated with breast cancer.
They were matched on the basis of stages of breast cancer age, and year of diagnosis. All the cases considered for the study were treated in the year 1989-2008. However, all those women who gave birth within the one year of diagnosis were not included in the comparison study.
On the basis of these research findings it was found out that the pregnant women treated with breast cancer showed more survival rates than non pregnant women.
