Glasgow, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) April 20, 2012 - Due to the difficult economic situation in North America, 2011 saw a decrease in demand for European produced laminate flooring. Sales fell from 41m sq m to just 27m sq m.

There was a slight increase in sales in Asia and the Chinese market also recorded a slight growth due to exports in the high quality segment. South America remains unchanged.

The UK has seen an increase in the European market. David Samuel of First Floor says "The US has, and always will have, a love affair with real wood products. Solid hardwood and engineered wood are by far the most popular choice in America, and this remains unchanged even in difficult economic times."
