Brits Spend The Same Amount of Time Choosing Their Lunch As They Do Testing A Mattress
Homeowners spend the same amount of time choosing their dinner each day as they do testing out the mattress that they are likely to sleep on for the next eight years.

According to a recent survey by Scandinavian home furniture company Ikea, 72% of Britons take less than ten minutes to pick their mattress and a third spend even less time making the crucial decision, in less than five minutes.
The study of 3,000 UK adults, which was published as part of National Bed Month in March, revealed that many feel embarrassed when testing out a mattress. Over 30% admitted that they feel shy when doing so and 26% confessed that they wouldn't lie down on it in-store before buying it.
Only 15% of couples surveyed said they would lie down on a mattress to test it out together before the purchase.
National Bed Month aims to encourage everyone to get a good night rest. Results showed that a worrying 70% of Brits do not think they are getting enough sleep and 52% blame this on having a bad mattress. However, 34% of women criticised their partners for hogging the duvet as the main reason for tossing and turning and struggling to fall asleep.
Having disturbed sleep is a hot health topic and the research concludes that embarrassment is preventing consumers from finding the right mattress for their body shape and needs, be it memory foam mattresses or pocket sprung.
