British Made Chairs - A Visit to the AJ Way Chair Factory
This week I had a great trip out to High Wycombe to visit AJ Way Chairs. They have been producing chairs in the UK since 1936 and it is a great success story of British manufacturing.

Although other companies have now outsourced their manufacturing to the Far East, AJ Way has stuck true to its ideals and it shows in the craftsmanship and quality of their products.
I was invited along to see exactly how their chairs are manufactured. It's fascinating to see
a plank of beech wood arrive at the factory and follow its journey through the many steps to becoming a high quality and well renowned AJ Way chair. It has given me an invaluable insight into why the high seat and riser recliner chairs stand out from the others in the market. Sometimes it's hard when looking at two chairs to see the difference, but having witnessed the quality of the materials they use and the techniques for manufacture it's easy to understand why these chairs last so long - there's a lot going on inside an AJ Way chair! I also had the opportunity to try out both the high seat chairs and the riser recliners and experience the different types of support and reclining actions. We're sure you will be as impressed as we are with these fabulous British made chairs.
