St Owensboro, KY (prHWY.com) January 28, 2012 - Carpal Tunnel syndrome is a medical condition where a person experiences numbness, tingling, or burning sensations in the thumb and fingers, in particular the index, middle fingers, and radial half of the ring fingers, which are innervated by the median nerve. The name Carpal Tunnel syndrome comes from the name carpal tunnel or carpal canal which is the passageway on the Palmer side of the wrist that connects the forearm to the middle compartment of the deep plane of the palm.

If your work or pastime activity requires you to spend a lot of time typing clicking and twisting or any forceful movement with your hands, you may be at risk for a painful condition called carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). The common symptoms for identifying the CST generally includes an episodes of numbness, tingling, burning, and aching in the thumb, index and middle fingers, and thumb-side of the ring finger. In the initial stage these symptoms tend to appear in the middle of the night or shortly after an extended period of repetitive motion. As the condition worsens, the symptoms appear more frequently. In severe cases, pain may shoot from the wrist up the forearm and even into the shoulder, the numbness in the fingers and thumb may become constant, and the thumb muscles may waste away, causing a loss of grip strength and coordination.

There are many natural and scientific treatments available for
relief from Carpal Tunnel. For Carpal Tunnel relief use a wrist splint at night, this prevents flexion. In the initial stages use of Immobilizing braces/ use reducer at night and, if possible, during the activity primarily causing stress on the wrists will help in carpal tunnel relief. Also, you can use corticosteroid injection for temporary relief from Carpal Tunnel. Also, this corticosteroid injection can be used for diagnosis purpose. If case of Carpal tunnel is severe or not treated for very long time it may result in surgical treatment for relief from Carpal tunnel syndrome.

Also, if you're diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel syndrome try avoid doing Repetition and Overexertion. Avoid repetitive finger motions by breaking up your daily tasks. Do not perform a repetitive finger action: like typing for more than 30 minutes without doing something else. This will help you very much in carpal tunnel relief.
