How to use R4i gold 3DS for N3DS console?

These two cards were released by R4ids.cn team. Their official site is www.r4ids.cn. They are running Wood R4 kernel or R4i official firmware.Until now (April 21th 2011),the latest wood kernel is Wood R4 kernel V1.28 and official kernel is R4i V1.51b,i will use wood R4 kernel firmware to show you how to use this nintendo 3ds flashcard..After you get this flashcard, you can download and use either of them.Personally,i suggest you use the Wood r4 kernel,because it updates more frequently and gives you better game experience.

From the package of two different products, we know that the major difference is that there is a red "3DS" label outside in the 3DS package box. And about the inside package, the appearance is the same., but there are two different cards, R4i gold is only for DS/DSi , R4i gold 3DS are available for both DS and 3DS.

R4i gold is the first item they released which only working for DS/DSi ,please notice, it is only working for DS/DSi, can not run on 3DS.And also you can't update the firmware to support 3DS, no way to do it. If you want to use it on 3DS, please buy the R4i gold 3DS, This time, the review sample i got is a R4i gold 3DS , but also it works on DS/DSi/3DS.So whatever DS console you have, you can use it with the same Wood R4 kernel.

How to download the kernel for R4i gold 3DS?

Except R4i gold 3DS flashcard, you need a micro SD card.

Step1 Put your sd card into the card reader and connect the card reader with the computer.
Step2 login the R4ids.cn official site, and go to the download page.
Step3 Find the latest Wood kernel and download. After finish the download , you will get the wood R4 kernel V1.28.rar file.
Step4 Extract the file, and you will get the Wood kernel folder. there are four files in the folder.
Step5 Copy the five files to your sd card.
Step6 Prepare a game to test : i use the pokemon. Copy the game file to the sd card too.So there will be six files in the root of your SD card. Then you have done everything and ready to play the game.
Step7 Unplug the card reader from pc and put the sd card to r4i gold 3ds flashcard.
Step8 Plug the r4i gold 3DS to the 3DS console and power on the 3DS.Now start the console.
