R4 3DS - Play Super NES Games On Your Nintendo 3DS

Newyork, NY (prHWY.com) December 1, 2011 - I can't talk enough about retro and classic games. Some of my fondest memories of gaming revolve around the NES and the Super NES systems. Great games, excellent graphics, and hours upon hours of fun. Don't get me wrong, I'm a gamer, so I love all of the advancements in gaming. The better graphics, more realism, and the amazing current gen. games. But there is nothing like going back and playing those games I spent so many hours beating (or trying to beat) and getting up on lazy Sunday mornings and gaming non stop until lunch. The NES was great, but my favorite system of all time absolutely has to be the Super NES from Nintendo. And thanks to a little card called the R4 3DS, I can play all of my old Super NES games again, portable style, right on my brand spanking new Nintendo 3DS system.

Some of you may be wondering just how I am able to actually play my Super NES games on my 3DS system. Well, it is far less complicated than most would make it sound, so let me tell you exactly what I do, and what you would have to do if you wanted to use your Nintendo 3DS as a portable Super NES too.

I use a little card, a flash card, called the R4 3DS for the new 3DS system. Much like I used to use my R4 DS Card on my Nintendo DS lite. The R4 3DS allows you to use micro sd cards, to load your homebrew and freeware games, emulators, and various other applications on your console. SnesDS is actually a homebrew piece of software, an emulator, that you can download and own for free. The developers don't charge any money at all, nor do they require donations of any sort. Now, downloading it is half the job done. What you have to do in order to be able to play Snes Games is listed below.

When you buy the R4 3DS, it should come with a micro SD card (in a combo package deal is how most sites sell it), and you'll also get a USB reader that lets you plug your micro sd card into your computer. You'll need to do a search on your favorite search engine for SNESDS (one word) and you will find the official snesDS website, where you can always download the latest version of the emulator. Then take the snesDS emulator you downloaded, and copy it over to the micro sd card. Don't forget to get some cool Snes games, and then copy all of the games you want to play to the micro SD as well. I usually organize my card by creating folders. So you can make a SNES folder, and put all of your SNES games in there, just to keep it simple for yourself.

Now that you have the emulator and the games you want to play all ready to go on your R4 3DS, just plug the sucker into the Nintendo 3DS system, and power up. You'll be greeted by a list of homebrew and games you have put on your micro sd. Just select the emulator, load it up, and voila.. All of the games you put on there, will show up in another list, and you can pick and choose the games you want to play. All you have to do now is start playing.
