The Westwood School Celebrates Confucius Classroom
The Westwood School blends the Montessori Method with International Baccalaureate Programmes and offers tri-lingual programs, including Mandarin, toddler through high school.

Dr. Guohua Yan, Chief Consul of Education, The Consulate General of People's Republic of China in Houston, was present for these ceremonies that included Mandarin performances by lower elementary and high school students, as well as a bi-lingual welcome from high school students Dayton Blankenship and Melody Tam, a Chinese exchange student, culminated in a Signing Ceremony in the new Confucius Classroom.
Commenting on the importance of learning about a culture so rich and different from our own, Westwood guest Dr. Dennis Kratz, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas, said, "The future will bring the United States and China much closer together to form a culture of harmony and collaboration that will make this world a better place."
