Irving, TX (prHWY.com) September 27, 2011 - Meet the Zoophabets. These 26 lovable animal characters, one for each letter of the alphabet, are the subject of a new interactive book from Sherbert Marketing, LLC that teaches children the alphabet in a fun, interactive and entertaining way. Learn Your ABCs with the Zoophabets is an interactive book recently released for the iOS platform with future plans for release on Android devices. The book is bright and colorful with more than 100 animations and interactions to keep kids engaged and entertained as they learn their ABCs.

In the book, alligators ride on airplanes, camels drive cars and iguanas eat ice cream. Kids will enjoy the whimsical characters and gorgeous story book illustrations. A child can touch either the lowercase or uppercase letter to hear how it is spoken. Lowercase letters are read in a little girl's voice while capital letters are narrated by an adult. Touch the Zoophabet character and the reader hears the letter and name of the animal, as in "A is for alligator." Other objects on the page can be touched to hear the associated word and each page plays an animation along with the narration.

This interactive book was developed using the Corona SDK, a popular game development environment for both iOS and Android, along with Kwik, a Photoshop application that allows digital artists to animate and add audio to their digital creations. The architect behind the Kwik application had the opportunity to see Learn Your ABCs with the Zoophabets prior to release and had this to say about the interactive kid's book.

"Besides being one of the first apps made with Kwik, "The Zoophabets" is beautifully designed. The illustrations are gorgeous and children will enjoy the great characters. We are glad that Kwik helped the creation of this lovely storybook, and we are looking forward to see what is coming next for the Zoophabets," said Alex Sousa, Kwik Development.

The book was not intended as the first app release by the San Antonio based company. Their development team was hard at work on an educational game based on the traditional memory match game. When the artwork they commissioned for the game was received, it was clearly something special and the husband and wife entrepreneur team began work on a children's book that would teach their youngest daughter, now 4, her ABCs.

"We loved the artwork and characters and started thinking about how to incorporate them into more than just this one game we were working on. I sat down and started writing a story for each animal character that would emphasize a letter of the alphabet. Then I started thinking about what to name these cute little animal characters. Zoo. Alphabet. Zoophabets," Rob Mabry, author and co-owner of Sherbert Marketing LLC explained.

So that's how Brian the Beaver ended up riding a bicycle with a balloon and Carl the Camel found himself riding to Cairo in his Car. Learn Your ABCs with the Zoophabets is available now in the App Store. Look for The Zoophabets ABC Memory Match Game to be released in early October.
