Mercedes sales jump during July 2011

Sales totals for the month of July 2011 increased by 16.7 percent compared to July 2010, with sales totals reaching the highest July volume since July 2006. July 2011 sales for the Mercedes brand totaled 21,065 units, which is a 16.7 percent increase compared to July 2010. Sales numbers from July 2011 contributed to the sales total of 139,086 units to date for Mercedes-Benz, which represents a total year to date sales increase of 11.3 percent in 2011 compared to 2010. The E-Class and C-Class models led the way in sales during July 2011, with the ninth generation E-Class selling a total of 5,114 units. The Mercedes C-Class followed closely behind, with sales totals of 4,554 units during July 2011. Mercedes diesel models showed a large increase in sales compared to last year, with a 134 percent increase for the month of July compared to July 2010. July 2011 sales of Mercedes diesel models totaled 913 units, compared to 390 units sold in July 2010.
