For vertical jigging, you would require good quality vertical jigs from a source that has spent a lot of time underwater testing for the best results. Your best bet would be to choose the right jig as jigs are designed specifically for specific applications.

Knife blades are long and thin and specifically created to cause a lot of disturbance underwater and catch everything in the water column top down.

Same sided jigs are symmetrical and if each side is different and they are known as asymmetrical. Asymmetrical jigs aid in gliding action for fishes that require slower and less aggressive presentations. Symmetrical jigs are meant for more aggressive action like speed jigging.

Inchiku jigs contain two parts with octopus shaped hooks. There are two eyelets, at the center and the end of the weight. To prevent the weight from snagging, the lure is tied to the top of the center of the eyelet and is a great jig for bottom fishing for snappers, flounders, sea bass and halibut.

Jigs that look like an octopus, squid or nautilus, are called Tai-kabura. It is for less aggressive fishing and the jigs are available in smaller weights and can be used for a sand perch, pompano or a grouper.

Compact jigs are specifically designed for feeding frenzy in the surface. When you are fishing in heavy current and deep, you will require a balanced and tail weighted jig. It will help you catch the trophy fish instead of the smaller ones.

You are welcome to take a look at our extensive videos at our website www.TheJigHQ.com for identifying the right type of jig you want. You can follow us on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/TheJigHQ and on Facebook (Frank Jig) and on Twitter.

To get the perfect jigs for our customers, we do a lot of research. We go underwater to gauge how a fish reacts and present to you the perfect jig that works properly. This was not done in a day as jigs date back to the 11th century. Fishermen and manufacturers spent quality time to develop light and durable jigging equipment. The butterfly inchiku madai jig was the brainchild of a Japanese gentleman Yoichi Mogi who literally revived fishing methods.
