The Chardham literary means four domiciles of Gods and Goddesses a gateway to the heaven. The four temples of Chardham are Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
The temple of Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is situated near river Alaknanda. The temple is also the starting point of river Ganga on earth to wash way all sins of the impure world.
Kedarnath the home to Lord Shiva is the sanctified place of spiritual union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The pre-historic temple is believed to be built by the Pandavas to worship Lord Shiva.
Gangotri is the throne of Goddess Ganga and is worship by people of all fragments to wash away their sins and attain eternal peace of life. Yamunotri is the birth place of river Yamuna and is worship by all people to get rid of all obstacles in life to have a blissful end.
The temple of Gangotri reopened on the 6th of May 2011 on the most auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya and will remain open until Diwali the festival of light.
The temple of Badrinath reopened on 9th May 2011 for all religious fanatics to worship Lord Vishnu for alleviating all evils from life, provide marital bliss, and a happy life.
