Bat weights (aka baseball doughnuts) have been around since the 1950′s and are weighted rings or sleeves that fit over the end of a bat, used by hitters for warming up during a baseball game. Bat weights increase the weight of a bat and believed by hitters to increase swing speed and improve 'feel' when removed from the bat and in preparation of hitting a pitched ball.
