Iradion laser source for Trotec laser machines
The CeramiCore technology Trotec introduces a new line of CO2 laser sources from US-based manufacturer Iradion Laser, Inc.

The totally new and patented CeramiCore technology ensures reliability, prolonged existence and an even higher engraving quality. The patented resonator body for the generation of the laser radiation is made out of 100% ceramic. This is a novelty on the market, because normally these resonator bodies are all-metal or out of glass. CeramiCore technology totally redefines the basic laser source.
Perfect body
Normally the laser sources used for laser processing are made out of glass or are all-metal. The ceramic design gives tremendous benefits compared to all metal or glass lasers: There are no aluminum welds or sealings, which could leak over time. To form the resonator during the laser process, two ceramic half shells are weld together. The resonator is heated to 800 degrees, therefore the burning process cleans the interior surface effectively.
Gas composition
The optical elements are glued onto there ceramic, the electrodes are mounted on the outside of the resonator and the gas is excited through the ceramic body. So there are no interior metal surfaces that damage the gas mixture's equilibrium. A pure gas composition and therefore longest lifetime is guaranteed.
Ceramic lasers can be operated at much greater pressures resulting in faster pulse speeds, which are critical for high speed engraving and marking applications. Laser users can benefit from highest engraving quality at speeds up to 140 inches/second.
Also, the innovative design allows for lower energy consumption. Benchmark tests show an energy reduction rate of up to 30%.
Smooth integration
The laser sources are optimized perfectly for Trotec lasers to get the best out of the new CeramiCore technology.
