Riverside Orthodontics, in Fairfield County, Explains the Training Needed to be an Orthodontist
Dr. Scott Kesselman, of Riverside Orthodontics, breaks down the difference between a doctor and an orthodontics.

An orthodontist must first receive his/her doctorate in general dentistry, the same as your family dentist. Then, they must complete an additional two to three years of graduate training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at an American Dental Association accredited, university affiliated program. As a specialist, the orthodontist limits his/her practice exclusively to orthodontic treatments. Only an orthodontist has the additional training to properly diagnose and treatment plan tooth movement.
Dr. Kesselman has specialized in orthodontics for over 15 years and Riverside Orthodontics prides itself in providing quality orthodontic treatment in the Riverside and Greenwich area. Call today to schedule a free consultation. We can be reached at (203) 698-0045.
